Treating bulgy varicose veins using ELVA, USG & Amublatory Phlebectomy procedures - Best Vein Varicose Clinic in Victoria Melbourne

Meet a 42-year-old gentleman whose journey towards healthier, more attractive legs took a significant turn for the better at our Melbourne clinic. For years, he had battled with the unsightly presence of bulgy varicose veins that marred the medial, lateral, anterior, and posterior aspects of his right leg. These abnormal veins first made their appearance during his teenage years and had progressively worsened over time, raising concerns not only about their visual impact but also their potential health implications.

Veins Treatment Procedure

Upon his initial visit to our clinic, a comprehensive examination revealed the presence of significant varices on one side of his leg. To pinpoint the source of these bulgy varicose veins, we conducted a Duplex Ultrasound (DU) examination. This diagnostic procedure unveiled the root cause: two deeper truncal veins known as the Great Saphenous Vein (GSV) and Small Saphenous Vein (SSV) were responsible for the surface varices.

Our approach to addressing this issue was to target the source of these surface varicose veins. We opted for the highly effective Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) technique, administered under local anesthesia. When performed by an experienced professional, EVLA boasts an impressive success rate of up to 95% in treating significant truncal veins. Importantly, this procedure is conducted on an outpatient basis, allowing patients to walk in and walk out of the clinic on the same day.

Following the EVLA treatment, our patient was advised to wear compression stockings during the day for just one week. Remarkably, he was able to resume his normal activities within a mere 1-2 days, experiencing minimal discomfort.

To comprehensively address the issue, we went a step further. Ambulatory MicroPhlebectomy (AMP) and ultrasound-guided Sclerotherapy (UGS) procedures were performed to target both visible and non-visible abnormal branches of the refluxing (abnormal) GSV and SSV. The results began to manifest just eight weeks after this single session of treatment.

Fast forward to the 12-week mark following four treatment sessions, and the transformation was truly astounding. At this juncture, our patient did experience some minor lumps under the skin, a common and expected occurrence post-treatment. However, by the six-month mark, these lumps had completely vanished, leaving behind a satisfied patient who reveled in the remarkable aesthetic and medical outcomes of his journey.

This success story exemplifies how our comprehensive approach to treating bulgy varicose veins can not only restore aesthetic appeal but also promote patient well-being and confidence. At our Melbourne Varicose Vein Clinic, we take pride in delivering effective solutions that rejuvenate both body and spirit, ensuring our patients can look forward to brighter, vein-free tomorrows.
