Ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy can be easily and effectively performed in an outpatient clinical setting with minimal adverse effects. Ultrasound is used to direct the injection of a special solution into deep superficial veins that cannot be accurately identified by the naked eye.
First, Dr. Yazdani punctures the target vein under ultrasound guidance. Then, with sonar assistance, she injects the sclerotherapy solution directly into the vein.
Consequently, using a sonogram to monitor the solution's movement during therapy will pinpoint the affected region. The sclerosing agent allows the vein to close and gradually disappear. Furthermore, we usually perform this procedure in the clinic with little or no downtime.
The procedure uses sound waves to create clear images of the vein in the affected area. An ultrasound machine displays these images directly onto the monitor screen. These captured images help Dr. Yazdani check the exact condition of your veins. As a result, she can easily diagnose blockages, faulty valves, reflux, or other signs of damage.
In general, we use Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy to accurately guide the injection process when treating deeper or hidden varicose and reticular veins. Because the treatment needle is very tiny, patients do not require any anesthesia.
Admission to hospital and anesthesia is not required. There is usually no need to take time off work and you are able to continue with your everyday activities.
It is generally suggested to avoid air travel, direct exposure to the sun, lifting heavyweight, and heavy workouts to eliminate the risk of complications after treatment.
